2011 PokerStars.com EPT Barcelona day 1a: Akkari, Selbst & Wahlbeck build Stacks

Day 1a of the 2011 PokerStars.com European Poker Tour Barcelona Main Event wrapped up on Saturday after nine levels of play. A starting field of 346 players came out, and at the end of the day, the field was focused down to Martin Schleich on top of about 200 with 182,100 in chips.

There were lots of notable players in the field including a number of Lex Veldhuis, Team PokerStars pros Johnny Lodden, Juan Maceiras Martin Hruby, and Sandra Naujoks. Unfortunately, all of them to make it through the day Ana Marquez, was failed, as the newest member to Team PokerStars Pro.

In the Marquez bust-out hand a player not factoring in flatted that eventually the showdown led off with a raise Erik van den Berg , and in the cutoff. In the small blind, Marquez came along, and it was three-handed over to the flop.

On the other side of the coin were a few of the Vanessa SelbstTeam PokerStars pros to thrive, Andre Akkari and Ville Wahlbeck.

Selbst got a lot of its chips Klimciauskas Domantas clashedwith. Selbst {A-} {Q-} five-bet sent with Klimciauskas ' and gave up after an ACE flopped against pocket kings. From there, she won another big pot with her own {10-} Pocket Kings {9-} the Blangenwitsch against Martial. All the money {10-Diamonds} went in {8-Hearts} on {3-Clubs} a flop of. The turn and river both suppressed Selbst moved to the early lead. They went to finish the day with 81,500.

A few other well-known players can Mickey Petersenfurther on day 2, Chris Moorman, Ivan Freitez Bryn Kenney, and Leo Margets. They have the day off on Sunday while going on day 1b before returning back to the action on Monday.

Day 1b will start at noon EDT Sunday (0300 PDT) in beautiful Barcelona, Spain. Another nine levels are on the slate and the field is expected to be much bigger than Saturday, hopefully the full length Field for more than 800 participants growing.
